Bob and Barn’s Tour of the North
10 Oct 03
| As Barn’s never really been anywhere further north than Watford Gap, Bob decided that he should see some of the delights that the North has to offer (other than battered Mars bars and tinned Sild.) In September, we visited four main cities, Liverpool, Dundee, Newcastle upon Tyne and York and a total of 12 computer game developers along the way. |

The main purpose, apart from our relentless urge to talk incessantly about ourselves, was to spread the golden word about the benefits of using live recordings in game development. We developed a short presentation and delivered it to all the developers we met. In many cases we were preaching to the converted, but hopefully we helped to influence the minds of, at least, some of the money men we met. One of the most compelling arguments is a straight comparison between a live recording and its synthesised counterpart. In most cases, one listen and you’ll wonder why you ever considered the synthesised route at all!
Special thanks to Colin Anderson of Denki Design in Dundee, who was instrumental in helping us to put the whole thing together. We owe you a pint or three Mr Anderson! |
