A Bright Start to 2004

08 Jan 04

During the European Symphonic Concert in Germany last August, the Primal orchestrator (Nic Raine) chatted to us about the potentiality of scoring a German feature film called “My Brother is a Dog”. We produced a showreel for him and shortly before Christmas he revealed that we’d got the gig. To be honest, at this stage we’d written off our chances as such a long time had elapsed between us producing the reel and receiving the confirmation from Nic. We’ve just returned from the spotting session in Hamburg (where we discuss the positioning, length and style of each of the musical cues in the film) and are now taking our first steps towards the production of the films main musical themes. It looks as though there will be lots of music to write so we’ll be fairly well occupied until the end of April. More about it once we’ve completed the score!

We’re over the moon about getting this job, particularly in light of the stiff opposition we were up against. Mr Raine, we raise a glass to you Sir!

“Bob & who?”

Our BAFTA nomination has raised a great deal of interest in us from the local media. Not only have we been interviewed on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, they’ve interviewed us for a feature on the BBC website (see link below). Cambridge Evening News have written a feature on us which was published on Monday 12th January. East Life magazine have just contacted us about running a feature too!

Whatever next, Richard & Judy?
