Voicing Creatures for STALKER

| Whilst enjoying some breathing space from the intense work out that was My Brother is a Dog, we’ve been producing vocal sounds for the creatures in a game called STALKER. Our attitude towards creating these sounds was to go out and make the recordings ourselves. To this end we spent a couple of days at Shepreth Zoo recording a whole range of animals there, including tigers, cougars, lynxs, parrots, pigs, wolves, lemurs and a polish turkey!

As many of the creatures were dog like, it was also necessary to target our recordings in that area so we contacted Cambridgeshire Police Dog Unit who were happy to help us out. Whilst there we recorded several German Shepherds as you’d expect, but astonishingly, the most viscious sounding dog of all of them was a Labrador sniffer dog!
